A Grout Week
For this week, our main task has been to finish the grouting around the community center. This involves mixing the correct color and using plastic baggies to spread the grout on the tiles. This is a very messy process, and finding the color alone took a total of 6hrs. Hopefully, this will improve our cake icing abilities. During the week, we took a break from grouting and visited kids at the El Gorrion school, and we delivered the chicken coop to its El Gorrion recipient. El Gorrion residents are able to get chicken coops through students international loans that they are able to pay back over time and, in the process, are given a strong sense of ownership. Although it didn't fit though the door, we were able to lift it over the 10ft wall. It might not have been possible if the chicken coop was any heavier. We have learned many new things this week and are very thankful for our time that time in Guatemala.
