Hi parents/family,
I just wanted to send out a quick email and let you guys know that we are alive and in Guatemala! We made it in safely last night and were dropped off at our host families (girls together, Devyn-Dillon-Parker, Chad-Cam in the third house). We are all within 5-10 blocks from downtown Antigua as well as the Language school. We are getting breakfast/lunch/dinner from our host families, and we are taking 1-on-1 spanish classes 8am-12pm for 3 days (started this morning). Right now we are just hanging out in Antigua and exploring the marketplace. The next two days we will continue with classes and then are planning on heading to Tikal to see the Mayan ruins. I just met with Seth - the director of Students International Guatemala - and he will be meeting us Sunday to take us up to Magdalena Milpass Altas where we will be working with SI the next three weeks. He also gave me a cell phone which I will have for the duration of the trip. If you text/call me I'm pretty sure it's free (although you will probably get charged a lot, at least for calls) in case you need to reach us in an emergency or anything. If you call this phone from your skype account it is really cheap... The rest of the group should have email access at some point this week.
