(composed by Cam for Thursday)
Today we had a little break from our engineering projects. We helped the girl from Taylor U host a mini track meet for the kids in El Gorrion. It was crazy, but really good. A bunch of us were positioned along the road to stop traffic, and others took pictures and ran with the kids. Afterwards we went up to a soccer field for awards, more runs, and just messing around with the local kids.
In the afternoon we went back to the community center to eat lunch and do a little more work. Some of us were painting, while others were working on the wood dryer ventilation system design and the chicken coop, which in fact has a complete frame now.
The rest of the day was dedicated to spending time with locals and our host families. I don't know about everyone else, but the guys house had a big dinner with the host family's extended family, and just had a great time talking at the table.
On another note, the bathrooms in Magdalena lock from both sides and I've been wondering if people get locked in often. Well it's finally happened...
